Countdown to CHRISTmas: how-to
Here's another how-to!
Christmas Countdown
Super easy. Super fun. Super cute.
Supplies:
1 sheet of green paper
1 sheet of red paper
Scissors
String
Hole Punch
Sharpie or black marker
Tack or tape (optional)
Pencil
Ruler (again, if you are cut straight lines, this is not necessary)
Directions:
Using the pencil, draw 12 squares on both pieces of paper (the red and the green). Cut them out.
Next, fill in the numbers with the Sharpie. (starting with 1 and working your way up to 24). **If you do not start this project today, then don't use the 24, 23, etc..)**
Punch a hole in the top middle of the square. Cut a medium length of string. Start stringing the squares onto the string, starting with 1 and working up to 24 (so that the #1 is at the bottom of the stack). Cut the long, extra pieces of string off each side and tie knots at the ends of each side. (or loops if you are using tacks to hang it)
Next, figure out where you are going to put this countdown. If you are hanging it around something (like I did) then just tie it around that so that it hangs like this:
If you are just hanging it on a wall (like my decoration yesterday), then you will just take tacks and attach each loop to a tack. (Tape works, too!)
Then, take a strip of paper and, using the Sharpie, write "days until Christmas" and hang it beneath the countdown.
In the mornings, rip off the number in the front and there you have it!
A super fun project!
Have fun!
